ABSTRACT
To evaluate the safety, efficacy, and long-term outcome of bronchial artery embolization (BAE) in treatment non-massive hemoptysis prognostic factors associated with recurrent bleeding. From March 2005 to September 2014, BAE was performed 233 patients hemoptysis. All had a history persistent or despite conservative medical treatment. We assessed technical clinical success, recurrence, related bleeding, recurrence-free survival rate, additional treatment, major complications all patients.Technical success achieved 224 (96.1%), obtained 219 (94.0%) patients. In addition, 64 (27.5%) presented recurrence median time 197 days after embolization. Tuberculosis sequelae presence aberrant non-bronchial systemic collaterals were significantly bleeding (p < 0.05). The use Histoacryl-based embolic materials reduced rate Patient who tuberculosis showed lower = 0.013). Presence statistically significant correlation 0.021). No during follow-up.BAE is safe effective manage procedure may offer better control quality life than therapy alone.
