ABSTRACT
Visceral fat accumulation is a major etiological factor in the progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus and atherosclerosis. We described previously visceral multiple cardiovascular risk factors considerable number Japanese non-obese subjects (BMI <25 kg/m2). Here, we investigated differences systemic arteriosclerosis, serum adiponectin concentration, eating behavior diabetic patients with without accumulation. The study were 75 (age: 64.8 ± 11.5 years, mean SD). represented an estimated area 100 cm2 using bioelectrical impedance analysis method. Subjects divided into two groups; (n = 53) 22) Systemic arteriosclerosis was scored for four arteries by ultrasonography. Eating assessed based on Guideline Obesity questionnaire issued Japan Society Study Obesity. (+) group showed significantly higher vascular scores lower levels than (−) group. With respect to items, values total score many sub-scores patients. Type 1) 2) low levels, 3) behavior, compared those Taken together, findings highlight importance evaluating Furthermore, might need undergo more intensive screening consider modifying their behaviors.
