ABSTRACT
Exclusive breastfeeding is giving only breast milk to an infant from birth up six months of age, with the exception medications and vitamins. For first life, alone ideal nourishment meet nutritional demand growing child. Although a universal practice, in Ethiopia 52% children aged less than old were exclusively breastfed. The study aimed investigate predictors exclusive duration among women who had between 6-12 Gurage zone, South Ethiopia.A mixed method cross-sectional was conducted assess south Ethiopia. Eight hundred twenty eight participants recruited using multistage sampling technique for quantitative survey. Interviewer administered close ended questionnaire used collect data. Data entered Epi analyzed SPSS version 21. Kaplan-Meier curve log rank test compare survival difference due selected covariates. A binary multivariable Cox regression model identify independent duration. Three focus group discussions generate qualitative Qualitative data transcribed by thematic approach open-code software.The median months. About 21.9% introduced complementary food before child age.
