ABSTRACT
The main objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy integrating blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) and diffusion tensor (DTI) data into radiation treatment planning for high-grade gliomas located near primary motor cortexes (PMCs) corticospinal tracts (CSTs). A total 20 patients with adjacent PMCs CSTs between 2012 2014 were recruited. bilateral in normal regions without any overlapping target volume lesions. BOLD-fMRI, DTI conventional MRI performed on (Karnofsky performance score ≥ 70) before radical radiotherapy treatment. Four different studies conducted each patient: a computed tomography (CT), an anatomical MRI, BOLD-fMRI. For case, three plans (3DCRT, IMRT IMRT_PMC&CST) developed by 3 physicists using Pinnacle system. Our has shown that there no significant difference 3DCRT terms dose homogeneity, but displayed better (PTV) conformity. In addition, we have found Dmax Dmean ipsilateral contralateral PMC CST considerably decreased IMRT_PMC&CST group (p < 0.001). conclusion, integration BOLD-fMRI is feasible beneficial.
