ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Different posterior tibial slopes (PTS) after posterior-stabilized total knee arthroplasty (PS-TKA) may lead to different biomechanical characteristics of joint. This cadaveric study was designed investigate the tibiofemoral kinematics and contact pressures PS-TKA with PTS. Methods Nine human specimens were used for PTS 3°, 6°, 9°. The measured during flexion angle changing from 0 120° (with an increment 10°) axial load 1000 N at each angle. Results root mean square (RMS) area peak 586.2 mm 2 , 1.85 MPa, 5.39 MPa before TKA changed 130.2 7.56 17.98 TKA, respectively. Larger smaller found in joints larger TKA. RMS differences femoral rotation more than 9.9°. translation lateral condyle that PTS, while overall, 11.4 mm. Conclusion After is reduced, pressure increased greatly. Approximately 80% lost, only about 60% recovered. results translation, area, pressure, indicating caution, it be beneficial properly increase PS-TKA.
