ABSTRACT
Currently, only a few studies have been conducted on the mental status recovery in elderly aortic stenosis (AS) patients after treatment. How transcatheter valve replacement (TAVR) and surgical (SAVR) differentially impinge of AS is completely unknown. The present prospective study aims to investigate this question by comparing post-treatment levels depression anxiety, quality life frailty.A total 120 (age above 70) with symptomatic were included, where 78 them treated TAVR 42 SAVR. Levels frailty assessed Chinese version Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), World Health Organization Quality Life Instrument-Older Adults Module (WHOQOL-OLD) clinical scale, respectively. Scores recorded compared at admission, 1 month, 4 months 8 treatment.Before treatment, both patient groups had similar baseline characteristics all parameters. During follow-up period, group demonstrated significant improvement parameters certain extent SAVR group. Specifically, was significantly improved TAVR-treated three time points. anxiety although remaining number limited. month treatment.TAVR may provide better outcome patients.
