ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to determine the bacterial species recovered from 61 cats with lower urinary tract infection (LUTI), and their susceptibility cefovecin in vitro. The clinical signs final diagnosis for confirmed LUTI were also reported. After physical examination cats, urine samples including ≥5-6 leucocytes microscopic evaluation cultured using bacteriological techniques. isolates identified by conventional microbiological methods tested vitro Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method recommended Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute. Bacterial growth observed 16 samples. Antimicrobial tests showed that 13 (81%) susceptible cefovecin. most frequently isolated bacterium infection, Escherichia coli.Cefovecin found be effective LUTI. Because is a new antimicrobial agent veterinary medicine, there are only few studies about culture It first on activity against infections Istanbul, Turkey.
