ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Excessive fat accumulation of pigs is undesirable, as it severely affects economic returns in the modern pig industry. Studies humans and mice have examined role gut microbiome host energy metabolism. Commercial Duroc are often fed formula diets with high protein contents. Whether how under this type diet regulates swine largely unknown. Results In present study, we systematically investigated correlation lean meat percentage (LMP) 698 commercial found that Prevotella copri was significantly associated pigs. Fat had higher abundance P. gut. High correlated increased concentrations serum metabolites obesity, e.g., lipopolysaccharides, branched chain amino acids, aromatic arachidonic acid. Host intestinal barrier permeability chronic inflammation response were increased. A gavage experiment using germ-free confirmed isolated from experimental a causal species increasing altering metabolites. Colon, adipose tissue, muscle transcriptomes -gavaged indicated colonization activated inflammatory responses through TLR4 mTOR signaling pathways upregulated expression genes related to lipogenesis accumulation, but attenuated lipolysis, lipid transport, growth. Conclusions Taken together, results proposed microbial communities activates by pathways, increases deposition significantly. The provide fundamental knowledge for reducing regulating composition.
