ABSTRACT
Botulinum toxin-A (BTX-A) injection into muscle reduces muscular power and may prevent post-operative complication after orthognathic surgery. The purpose of this study was (1) to evaluate BTX-A the masseter on prevention plate fracture (2) compare relapse between group no group.Sixteen patients were included in study. Eight received bilaterally, eight served as control. All bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy for mandibular setback additional surgery, such LeFort I or genioplasty. Post-operative recorded. SNB angle, plane gonial angle used relapse.Total number fractured plates 2 out 16 that 8 treatment (P = 0.031). However, there significant differences changes groups > 0.05).BTX-A could reduce incidence fracture.
