Production of vegetable oils in the world and in Egypt: an overview

ABSTRACT
This article throws a light on the recent situation of oilseed as well vegetable oil production in world referring to those Egypt. Over last 30 years, crop increased 240%, while increase area and yield was 82 48%, respectively. The main produced is soybean whereby it represents more than 50% total world. Most common types which are currently available categorized this according suitability for their oils human consumption whether they considered source some functional ingredients. Oils suitable include sunflower, canola, soybean, cottonseed, groundnut, linseed, sesame, moringa oils. chemical composition these content specific components have been summarized compared. In addition, yields unsuitable edible purposes such high erucic acid rapeseed, jatropha, jojoba, castor also assessed its uses non-edible purposes.
