ABSTRACT
A prospective analysis of gait and strength parameters was performed in 100 patients diagnosed with MS pyramidal involvement admitted a rehabilitation unit. The were divided into two groups based on their ability to walk daily life (nonassisted or cane-assisted gait) four clinical subgroups depending associated involvements such as sensory loss cerebellar ataxia. Twenty healthy subjects studied control group. Gait evaluated Locometre muscle an isokinetic dynamometer. results showed that the average velocity hamstring quadriceps strongly correlated reduced group comparison control, compared nonassisted tended be more determination coefficient (r 2 ) reaching value 0.44 subgroup. These findings provide evidence correlation between reduction impairment is obvious whatever form MS. This higher hamstrings but may change disability level form. could taken account individual assessment further programmes.
