ABSTRACT
e17545 Background: Although pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of death, it only receives approximately 2% federal dollars distributed by NCI. Recognizing need for research support, patient advocacy groups and private institutions are playing a growing role in providing funding to supplement government funds. Methods: The International Cancer Research Partnership (ICRP) an alliance governmental charitable organizations regional, national international grants awards which provides key information about ongoing historical funding. We interrogated publicly available ICRP database corresponding scientific outline (CSO) codes review number (> 80% relevance) awarded from 2008 2012. compared total non-U.S. Results: that include decreased 44% (909 vs 507 awards) Among focused on percentage non-government entities US increased 17% 22% during same time period.
