ABSTRACT
e23025 Background: Diversity in clinical studies is crucial aligning the study population with intended patient demographic. Freenome developing a blood based test (MyTectCRC) to offer convenient and accessible option for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. Its validation supported by PREEMPT CRC study, prospective, multi-center observational study. was able achieve diverse representing various ethnic, racial, geographical backgrounds that reflect United States population. This analysis evaluates significance of strategic site selection use forward-thinking tools achieving inclusive Methods: Starting 2020, enrolled participants aged 45-85 at average risk. Eligible consenting underwent draw screening colonoscopy, sample analyzed MyTectCRC. To ensure diversity, employed beyond large academic institutions hospitals smaller sites community hospitals. The also incorporated decentralized trial (DCT) model reach broader areas used electronic mobile phlebotomy (MP) services facilitate enrollment. Results: 48,995 achieved ethnic/racial diversity comparable 2020 U.S. Census Blacks (11.2%, vs 13.6%), Asians (6.8%, 6.3%) Hispanic or Hispanic/Latinx 19.1%), Native Hawaiian Other Pacific Islander (0.3% 0.4%). primary types were regional clinics, accounting 45.5% all sites, followed health systems (12.0%), research institutes (18.5%), centers/teaching (16.0%). clinics centers highest proportion Black within their (21.4% 12.1%, respectively). Research had Asian (24.8%) (18.3%) populations. There no significant difference observed male versus female distribution between types. Within traditional 32% MP service. DCT 12,137 (24.7% total) from every state U.S., including high representation rural (24.5%). Conclusions: integrated multiple methodologies enhance inclusivity. multimodal approach ensured diversified through participation harder-to-reach populations, which reflected ethnic racial data, as well diversity. underscores importance incorporating early planning into strategy using methods broaden Clinical information: NCT04369053 .
