Ethical Ideology, Animal Rights Activism, and Attitudes Toward the Treatment of Animals

ABSTRACT
In two studies, we used the Ethics Position Questionnaire (EPQ) to investigate relationship between individual differences in moral philosophy, involvement animal rights movement, and attitudes toward treatment of animals. first, 600 activists attending a national demonstration 266 nonactivist college students were given EPQ. Analysis returns from 157 198 indicated that more likely than hold an "absolutist" orientation (high idealism, low relativism). second study, 169 EPQ with scale designed measure Multiple regression showed gender dimension idealism related use.
