ABSTRACT
Gonadotropin therapy using a human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and FSH preparation is an effective regimen in inducing masculinization spermatogenesis men with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH). However, the high cost of medication frequent injections affect compliance. The aim this study was to determine efficacy sequential use highly purified urinary (uFSH)/hCG IHH.A randomized, open-label, prospective, controlled noninferiority trial 18-month follow-up conducted 9 tertiary hospitals.A total 67 Chinese IHH were randomly allocated into group A receiving continual uFSH (75 U, 3 times week) hCG (2000 twice injection B week every other months) injection. The primary outcome proportion subjects sperm concentration ≥ 1.0 × 10(6)/mL during 18 months. The between groups compared for noninferiority.Of patients, 17/33 (51.5%) uFSH/hCG 19/34 (55.9%) achieved concentrations 10(6)/mL. not inferior that (noninferiority, P = .008) by intention-to-treat analysis. The patients IHH.
