ABSTRACT
To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on osteoarthritis in rats and explore possible mechanism.Thirty SD were randomly divided into model group, electro-acupuncture group control (n=10), former two groups, early was induced using a modified DMM surgical modeling method. After successful modeling, treated with at bilateral "Housanli" "Anterior knee point". Behavioral tests performed scored LequesneMG scale. Subchondral bone degeneration observed each serum levels IL-1β, ADAMTS-7, MMP-3 COMP measured ELISA. The mRNA protein expressions Wnt-7B, β-catenin, cartilage tissue joints detected RT-PCR Western blotting. In behavioral tests, groups had significantly higher scores after than those (P < 0.05). 20 days treatment, lowered as compared Imaging examination revealed obvious subchondral damage both but damages milder group. Compared rats, receiving lower 0.05) also ADAMTS-7 tissues 0.05).Electroacupuncture can alleviate joint pain improve by reducing IL-1β to inflammation such cytokines via regulating Wnt-7B/β-catenin signaling pathway.
