ABSTRACT
Higher plants continuously and iteratively produce new above-ground organs in the form of leaves, stems flowers. These arise from shoot apical meristems whose homeostasis depends on coordination between self-renewal stem cells their differentiation into organ founder cells. This is stringently controlled by central transcription factor WUSCHEL (WUS), which both necessary sufficient for cell specification Arabidopsis thaliana ULTRAPETALA1 (ULT1) was previously identified as a plant-specific, negative regulator WUS expression. However, molecular mechanisms underlying this regulation remain unknown. ULT1 protein contains SAND putative DNA-binding domain B-box, proposed interaction eukaryotes. Here, we characterise novel partner ULT1, named INTERACTING FACTOR 1 (UIF1), Myb an EAR motif. UIF1 function same pathway number flower. Moreover, displays activity specifically binds to regulatory elements. We thus provide genetic evidence that work together floral meristem homeostasis, probably direct repression
