ABSTRACT
Uplift pressure is an important factor for dam stability. The simulation of uplift in model test is, however, still unsolved problem. This paper presents original developments including mechanical analysis, theoretical derivations, numerical and experimental investigation. Based on the loading properties, a new method simulating by equivalent loads proposed, relevant calculation formulas are derived. Similarity theory was used to deduce similarity relations. Numerical analyses two dams were carried out, equivalence, applicability verified. Finally, this applied practical dam. Sound results obtained, which have been adopted design construction Research show that feasible effects tests.
