ABSTRACT
Assimilation and photosynthetic efficiency (maximal quantum yield) of young oaks were compared in coppice standard sessile oak stands comparable age (100 years) under different light intensity categories: minimum -ISF < 20%, low -20%<ISF<25%, medium -25%<ISF<30% the open, without mature canopy cover >30% during favourable drought conditions.Measurements maximal assimilation rates performed at a constant temperature measurement block (20°C), CO 2 concentration 400 µmol/l, flow 500 µmol/s intensities: 0, 50, 250, 600, 1200 1800 µmol/m s three consecutive growing seasons (2012, 2013 2014).In every category least 8 naturally regenerated seedlings sprouts stools measured. The yield optimal conditions standards was highest closed canopy, while coppices category.During severe drop evident all categories, no differences observed between 2012 with expressed stress, proving advantage over this particular category. However, beneficial effects restoration coppicing are not guaranteed. It is our belief that time such might decrease; it would be therefore interesting to compare responses define, when response abilities both studied systems become equal.
