ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Chronic osteomyelitis is one of the currently refractory diseases. The aim this study to discuss method and curative effects vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) treatment combined with skin flap transplantation antibiotic bone cement for chronic tibia osteomyelitis. MATERIAL AND METHODS:For study, 18 cases open fracture secondary were selected. After granulation tissue wound surface became fresh infection was controlled, repaired a medial head gastrocnemius transfer or myofascial cutaneous island pedicle collateral vessel nourished by retrograde sural nerve. VSD focus debridement filling conducted. inflammation completely regulated, elective extraction, grafting, internal fixation performed. Within 2 3 years follow-up post-surgery, satisfaction recurrence rates evaluated. patients' pre-operative post-operative recovery limb functions compared according Enneking scoring system. RESULTS:The patients did not suffer from recurrence, exception 1 case that manifested recovered through surgical within period follow-up. these post-surgery 94.4% 5.6%, respectively. average functional 81.5% normal function.
