ABSTRACT
An room temperature low noise anti-parallel Schottky diode based 630–720GHz sub-harmonic mixer (SHM) is designed, built and measured. Intrinsic resonances in low-pass hammer-head filter have been adopted to prevent the LO RF power leak from IF channel, while greatly minimizing transmission line size. The consists of 15um quartz terahertz circuit 127um Al2O3 transformer circuit. improved lumped element equivalent model SBDs guarantees accuracy simulation. measurement indicates that with local oscillating (LO) signal 2–8 mW, lowest double sideband (DSB) conversion loss 8.2 dB at 645 GHz, best DSB 2800 K 657GHz. 3 bandwidth 75 GHz 638 715 GHz. work frequency band above 20GHz ranging 1 20 −10dB return loss.
