ABSTRACT
Background: Some Ebola vaccines have been developed and tested in phase III clinical trials. However, assessment of whether public willingness to purchase or not, especially unaffected areas, is lacking. The aim this study was determine pay (WTP) for a hypothetical vaccine Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted from 1 August 30 December 2015 five cities Aceh province Patients' family members who visited outpatient departments were approached interviewed about their sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge Ebola, attitude towards vaccination practice WTP vaccine. multivariable linear regression model assessed the relationship between these explanatory variables WTP. Results: During study, 500 participants interviewed. There 424 (84.8%) respondents completed interview 74% (311/424) expressed acceptance an 288 willing (92.6% out 311). mean US$2.08 (95% CI: 1.75-2.42). final indicated that young age, high educational attainment, working as private employee, entrepreneur civil servant (compared farmers), being unmarried, residing suburb city) associated with higher Conclusions: Although proportion would accept relatively high, amount they very low. This finding indicate need subsidies country.
