ABSTRACT
This study aimed to evaluate the periodontal status of a group Romanian systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients and investigate relationships between periodontitis SSc subtypes. This observational included diagnosed with limited (lcSSc) diffuse (dcSSc). Demographic data were collected from medical records. Each participant underwent full-mouth examination including Bleeding on Probing (BoP) index, Oral Hygiene (OH) Depth (PD), Gingival Recession (GR), Clinical Attachment Loss (CAL). The was defined according presently recognised case definition system. The 30 lcSSc dcSSc mean age 52.45±11.75 years. overall frequence in our 95%. frequency stage III/IV higher (90%) than (60%). Within patients, significant positive correlations observed age, BoP OH number missing teeth, PD, CAL one side diagnosis other (r=0.588, p=0.001; r=0.399, p=0.002; r=0.388, r=0.574, r=0.444, r=0.571, p=0.001). A correlation existed diagnostic subtypes (r=0.327, p <0.001).Periodontitis highly prevalent both groups. More cases detected patients.
