ABSTRACT
Disruptions in airline transportation systems can prevent airlines from executing their schedules as planned. Adverse weather conditions, congestion at airports, and mechanical failures often hinder a flight schedule. During such events, decision makers must reschedule legs, reroute aircraft, pilots, passengers. We present an optimization model that reschedules legs reroutes aircraft by minimizing objective function involving rerouting cancellation costs. develop heuristic for selecting which are rerouted, we provide proof of concept evaluating our using simulation operations. Finally, revise the to minimize crew passenger disruptions.
