ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to ascertain masticatory efficiency by evaluating electromyographic activity in masseter and temporalis muscles subjects with sleep bruxism varying severity, as determined BiteStrip. Thirty-four were divided into two groups: a mild group mean (± standard deviation) age 31.3 ± 6.2 years (n = 15) severe 29.8 7.1 19). Full-night polysomnography (PSG) performed eligible subjects. linear envelope integral used determine on basis signal during habitual non-habitual chewing. There significantly higher (p .05) than both peanut chewing right .03) left raisin .01) muscles. Furthermore, Parafilm M showed similar results .008) .02) These suggested that had lower efficiency.
