ABSTRACT
Ceramics are being increasingly used in industry due to their outstanding physical and chemical properties. But these materials difficult machine by traditional machining processes because they hard brittle. Recently, as one of the various alternative processes, laser-beam is widely cutting ceramics. Although use lasers presents a number advantages over other methods, problems associated with this process uncertain formation cracks that result from thermal stresses. This paper Bayesian probabilistic modeling crack thin alumina plates during laser cutting. The proposed model can predict critical front angle which directly related initiation formation.
