ABSTRACT
As the population ages, number of elderly with systemic diseases like stroke increases. In order to avoid strokes, various wearable walking assistance robots have been developed. However, most them are bulky, heavy, and poorly practical. For users in this study, we developed a compact ankle assistive robot promote exercise. The can help user establish healthy gait by guiding proper motion timing while just supporting joint. To assist users, offers faster-than-ankle movements. With graphical interface (GUI), change robot's settings suit their needs. Furthermore, proposed gait-adaptive method for adapt user's changing providing more accurate assistance. Finally, evaluation experiment demonstrated positive feasibility adaptation. advantages methods include low cost simplicity implementation.
