Abstract When a parent assumes the caregiving responsibilities of someone with Alzheimer's disease, relationships between family members, as well roles, may be altered. Information collected interviewing six granddaughters. themes that emerged from granddaughters' stories included problems social interaction feelings embarrassment due grandmothers' behavior.
