ABSTRACT
We evaluated the dietary black soldier fly meal (BSFM) as a fish (FM) replacer based on growth, biological indices and composition of whole body, viscera liver in Korean catfish, Silurus asotus. Three experimental diets contained protein sources 40% FM control (FM), 35% + 5% BSFM (FM BSFM) 20% dehulled soybean SBM). Each group 112 with an average initial body weight 85.2 ± 5.0 g (mean SD) were randomly distributed into 9 tanks (1,500-L each) triplicates fed twice day one 3 for 10 weeks. At end feeding trial, gain specific growth rate FM+BSFM diet significantly higher than that FM+SBM, but not different from diet. The between BSFM. results this study suggest can be good animal source used substitute up to 12.5%
