ABSTRACT
States shape the health system in many ways: as purchasers, regulators, and conveners. Despite these various roles, there is little systematic effort to monitor state choices, learn from choices states make, purposefully spread one state’s innovations other states. Coordination between federal government on approaches improving care often lacking, limiting our nation’s ability address critical problems. In an improve performance increase of innovation, National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP), with support Commonwealth Fund, prepared this report a broad array policies practices. This describes tremendous amount activity at level which has implications how well performs.
