ABSTRACT
Our aim was to investigate the predictive factors for development of a rebound phenomenon after temporary hemiepiphysiodesis in children with genu valgum. We studied 37 limbs idiopathic valgum who were treated hemiepiphyseal stapling, and more than six months remaining growth at removal staples. All followed until skeletal maturity or two years staples. On multivariate logistic regression analysis, rate correction, body mass index (BMI), age, initial valgus angle significantly associated phenomenon. With those characteristics, model generated using recursive partitioning analysis. Children rapid correction had most frequent severe (incidence 79%, mean 4°), whereas slow less when they low BMI (43%, 2°) none ≥ 21 kg/m(2).This is first study evaluate valgum.
