ABSTRACT
Rabbit monoclonal antibodies (RabMAbs) represent a novel category of immunoreagents that may combine the best properties both mouse (MMAs) and rabbit antisera. In attempt to verify performance this new class on paraffin-embedded tissue, RabMAbs against estrogen receptor, progesterone Ki-67, cyclin D1, CD3, CD5, CD23, synaptophysin were tested several tumor types as well normal tissues. The results compared with those obtained classic MMAs same antigens. appear offer increased sensitivity no apparent loss specificity. On routine use they permit higher working dilutions (5 10 times average), allowing significant improvement in terms laboratory efficiency. robustness is further proved by fact some instances optimal staining can be even without antigen retrieval. consideration high observed, contribute significantly standardize diagnostic immunohistochemical procedures.
