ABSTRACT
Vertebral hemangiomas although benign vascular lesions few of these may be ag-gressive causing osseous, extra-osseous and/or epidural expansions with recurrence rate as low 3%. It should considered one the important differentials while dealing lytic in dorsal spine compressive myelopathy.A 16-year-old female came an acute history paraparesis bladder in-volvement. She was diagnosed vertebral hemangioma D9 for which she underwent surgical decompression and fixation. At present, had a sensory level D10 on exami-nation. After radiological investigations (X-ray MRI) high intensity signals extra osseous portion significant neural compression indicating he-mangioma. long segment instrumentation prior arterial embolization. Histopathology features were suggestive our diagnosis recur-rence confirmed. 2 weeks, patient improved neurology partial recovery Grade power right lower limb 1 left limb. report confirmed recurrence. 6 months follow-up after aggressive rehabilitation, spastic to 3 4 The sphincteric control also found fair at year follow-up.Vertebral when progressive neurological deficit warrant decompression. choice intervention depends location extent tumor. Due their vascularity, it is advisable preoperatively carry out embolization.Although commonly asymptomatic, present myelopathy. Therefore, they detected early, intervened followed up regularly detect prevent worsening function.
