ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND Digital radiography has been used to evaluate the progress of bone growth with a collagen-hydroxyapatite implant in rabbit tibias. This study aimed introduce digital methods that provide comprehensive data availability for continuous information retrieval from preparation cultivation period.
METHODS 38 radiographs were divided into 3 treatment groups, namely single defect without (control), single-implant, and three-implant. Radiographic acquisitions performed at time post-implantation 0 56 days. Observations concentrated on implantation site, followed by creating lateral profile. The prediction was determined using relative density (RBD) percentage.
RESULTS Based profile, recovery process consisted absorption new tissue deposition. highly influenced size. In control single-implant regardless different processes, similar results observed days post-implantation, an RBD value approximately 90%. Meanwhile, three-implant group only had 62%.
CONCLUSIONS Radiography can during New Zealand white rabbits. Radiographs, which be obtained any cultivation, offered more than other method relies after sacrificing animals.
