High preterm birth at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital as a national referral hospital in Indonesia

ABSTRACT
Background: Preterm birth is the leading direct that causes neonatal death. Indonesia was listed as one of countries with greatest number preterm in 2010. This study aims to identify prevalence and potential risk factors among women underwent delivery Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, an Indonesian national reference hospital.Methods: retrospective cohort involved 2,612 who delivered between January December 2013. Any clinical data which related outcomes were recorded. The managed using chi-square for bivariate analysis t-test or Mann-Whitney numerical followed by multiple logistic regression multivariate SPSS version 20.0.Results: affected 1,020 2,616 pregnancies (38.5%). Non-booked patients increased nearly twice (OR 1.89, 95% CI 1.37–2.61). While singleton pregnancy 0.17, 0.12–0.25), head presentation 0.75, 0.63–0.89), regular ANC 0.67, 0.54–0.84) had lower birth. Apgar score, birthweight, mode significantly different pre-term group full-term group.Conclusion: Prevalence Hospital approximately 2.5 times higher compared number. Several reducing rate include pregnancy, presentation, ANC.
