ABSTRACT
The hygroscopicity of aerosols has an important influence on atmospheric visibility and is one the main causes haze pollution. Based observations aerosol hygroscopic growth factor (GF), water soluble inorganic ions, organic carbon/elemental carbon (OC/EC) data during weather from April 17 to May 21, in 2014, properties corresponding effects Nanjing were analyzed. results showed that distribution GF was bimodal varied 1.12 1.64. With increase particle size, average (GFmean) changed less standard deviation wettability (σ) increased gradually; meanwhile, degree external mixing chemical components gradually. particles day better than at night, but weaker night; non-haze weather, stronger higher, while opposite trends. levels, grew decreased further. Relative humidity can have a significant impact their capacity. Under low background, included NH4+, NO3-, SO42-, OC, EC, content OC/EC days more abundant; with relative humidity, abundant matter reason for decrease moisture absorption capacity small-scale aerosols. level also affecting contents (NH4)2SO4, insoluble substances highest, followed by NH4NO3. these obvious diurnal variation characteristics, which resulted κchem calculated composition κmean acquired using H-TDMA good consistency, correlation coefficient 0.8903. In between them further enhanced. Therefore, major could be used predict
