Based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG), an online monitoring system for the etching process of optical in a hydrofluoric (HF) acid solution has been designed. The variation curves wavelength shifts FBGs with time at three different temperatures have obtained and analyzed theoretically. results show that HF can be understood by shift FBG time. Finally, required tapered tips made controlling velocity pulling from solution.
