ABSTRACT
A polarization rotator based on asymmetrical Si nanowires is presented and optimized for high rotation efficiency (almost 100%). The present has a very small conversion length (~10 μm) consequently becomes compact. analysis of the wavelength dependence shows broad bandwidth (~120 nm) (>97%). tolerance to various fabrication errors also numerically studied. To compensate error, postcompensation method introduced by modifying refractive index up-cladding.
