ABSTRACT
The nonlinear properties of a low loss hydrogenated amorphous silicon core fiber have been characterized for transmission high power pulses at 1540 nm.Numerical modelling the pulse propagation in material was used to establish two-photon absorption, free-carrier absorption and refractive index, which were found be larger than values typical crystalline silicon.Calculation figure merit demonstrates potential these fibers photonics applications.
