ABSTRACT
This paper proposes an automatic point spread function (PSF) estimation method to de-blur out-of-focus optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. The utilizes Richardson-Lucy deconvolution algorithm deconvolve noisy defocused images with a family of Gaussian PSFs different beam spot sizes. Then, the best size is automatically estimated based on discontinuity information entropy recovered Therefore, it not required prior knowledge parameters or PSF OCT system for de-convoluting image. model does account diffraction and coherent scattering light by sample. A series experiments are performed digital phantoms, custom-built phantom doped microspheres, fresh onion as well human fingertip in vivo show performance proposed method. may also be useful combining other algorithms image recovery.
