ABSTRACT
An improved 8-channel silicon mode demultiplexer is realized with TE-type and TM-type grating polarizers at the output ends, these gratings serve as fiber-chip couplers simultaneously. The present includes a three-waveguide PBS (for separating TE0 TM0 modes) six cascaded ADCs demultiplexing high-order modes of both polarizations). high extinction ratios are used to filter out polarization crosstalk in hybrid multiplexer efficiently measured for all mode-channels reduced greatly ~-20dB ~100nm bandwidth.
