ABSTRACT
We present a theoretical model to sufficiently investigate the optical rotational Doppler effect based on modal expansion method. We find that frequency shift content is only determined by surface of spinning object and reduced linear difference mode index between input output orbital angular momentum (OAM) light, rotating speed as well.An experiment carried out verify model. We explicitly suggest spatial spiral phase distribution determines content. The makes us better understand physical processes effect, thus has many related application fields, such detection bodies, imaging measurement OAM light.
