ABSTRACT
Bit error rate (BER) versus optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) characteristics determines the transmission performance for coherent transponder. We have developed a model predict BER OSNR at various receiver power (ROP). The has three parameters, which are related floor, filter mismatching, and value without loading. is applied high baud quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transponders. By considering influence of on fitting accurate prediction transponder can be achieved over rates. Novel applications enabled by this include in-field measurement OSNR, simple abstraction transponder, monitor channel monitor.
