ABSTRACT
We propose and investigate an all-fiber thermo-optic modulator based on a side-polished twin-core fiber (TCF) Michelson interferometer (MI) coated with NaNdF 4 nanoparticles. The MI was fabricated by tapering the splicing point between TCF single mode (SMF). A short suspended core (SCF) is spliced to one of introduce fixed optical phase difference (OPD). photo-thermal material . Owing ohmic heating nanoparticles under 808 nm pump laser, effective refractive index polished changed, resulting in shift MI. has significant modulation 2.9 π near wavelength 1260 can obtain switching rise (fall) time 152 (50) ms. proposed device will have great application potential modulators due compact structure strong robustness.
