ABSTRACT
We demonstrate the first multi-segmented Nd:YLF laser, to best of our knowledge. The crystal was designed straightforwardly aim for minimum thermal stress without sacrificing overall laser efficiency, with influence pump beam waist position considered in particular. Integrating enhanced thermo-mechanical resistance and alleviated heat load low quantum defect pumping, this end-pumped 1314 nm system delivered a maximum continuous-wave output power up 35.5 W under 105 W, corresponding an optical-to-optical efficiency 33.8%. Furthermore, by incorporating acousto-optic modulator, active Q -switching oscillator accomplished, yielding average 22.9 at pulse repetition frequency (PRF) 20 kHz largest energy 13.6 mJ PRF 1 kHz.
