ABSTRACT
Spatiotemporal mode-locked (STML) fiber lasers have become a new platform for investigating nonlinear phenomena. In this work, spatiotemporal dual-periodic soliton pulsation (SDSP) is firstly observed in an STML laser. It found that the SDSP, long-period pulsations (LPPs) of different transverse modes are synchronous, while short-period (SPPs) exhibit asynchronous modulations. The numerical simulation confirms experimental results and further reveals proportion mode components can manipulate periods LPP SPP but does not affect synchronous modes. obtained bring study dissipative into multi-period modulation stage, which helps to understand complex dynamics discover high-dimensional systems.
