Integrated polarization beam splitters in the silicon nitride platform for 950 nm and 1300 nm wavelengths

ABSTRACT
Photonic integration in a silicon nitride (SiN) platform enables low propagation losses and wide transparency range, making it ideal for quantum applications. However, polarization control SiN is challenging because of its birefringence. This work demonstrates beam splitters using asymmetric directional couplers SiN, designed 950 nm 1300 wavelengths. These devices exhibit insertion (<1 dB) high extinction ratios (20 dB-30 dB).
