ABSTRACT
Plasmonic devices using periodic metallic nanostructures have recently gained tremendous interest for color filters, sensing, surface enhanced spectroscopy, and photoluminescence, etc. However, the performance of such plasmonic is severely hampered by solid substrates supporting nanostructures. Here, a strategy freestanding nanomembranes introduced taking advantages hollow substrate structures. Large-area highly uniform gold with nanohole array are fabricated via flexible simple replication-releasing method. The structures include core fiber 30 μm diameter two ferrules their hole as 125 500 μm, respectively. As proof-of-concept demonstration, 2 times higher sensitivity bulk refractive index obtained this platform compared to that counterpart on silica substrate. Such portable compact configuration provides unique opportunities explore intrinsic properties metal paves new way fabricate high-performance biomolecule sensing filter.
