ABSTRACT
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are being increasingly studied in relation to energy metabolism and body composition homeostasis. Indeed, the quantitative analysis of miRNAs expression different adiposity conditions may contribute understand intimate mechanisms participating weight control find new biomarkers with diagnostic or prognostic value obesity management. The aim this study was search for blood cells whose could be used as loss.Ten Caucasian obese women were selected among participants a weight-loss trial that consisted following an energy-restricted treatment. Weight loss considered unsuccessful when <5% initial (non-responders) successful >5% (responders). At baseline, total miRNA isolated from peripheral mononuclear (PBMC) sequenced SOLiD v4. The sequencing data validated by RT-PCR.Differential baseline several found between responders non-responders. Two up-regulated non-responder group (mir-935 mir-4772) three others down-regulated (mir-223, mir-224 mir-376b). Both mir-935 mir-4772 showed relevant associations magnitude loss, although other transcripts (mir-874, mir-199b, mir-766, mir-589 mir-148b) also correlated loss. This research addresses use high-throughput technologies obesity, determining transcriptome PBMC. Basal miRNAs, particularly mir-4772, forecast response hypocaloric diet.
