ABSTRACT
Investigating cohesive tissue sheets in controlled cultures still poses a challenge since the complex intercellular interactions are difficult to mimic vitro models. We used supported lipid membranes functionalized by adhesive part of extracellular domain cell adhesion molecule cadherin-11 for immobilization pluripotent sheets, animal cap isolated from Xenopus laevis blastula stage embryos. Cadherin-11 was bound via histidine tag with chelator head groups. In first step, quantitative functionalization confirmed quartz crystal microbalance and high energy specular X-ray reflectivity. next induced neural crest fate were cultured on cadherin-11. The cells within significantly dependent changes lateral densities formation filopodia lamellipodia verified viability sustainability culture over several hours. expression transcription factor slug externally demonstrated applicability displaying molecules differentiation sheets.
